We are looking for an experienced Manager, with a front of house focus, to join the Eden Café team. Someone who understands and supports our ethos is essential.
While your focus will be mostly front of house, you will also need to have a good understanding of how the café works as a whole and be able to step into assist with food preparation and presentation, baking, making coffee to a high standard etc. when required.
You will lead by example and work collaboratively with our Kitchen Manager and the rest of the team in all aspects of the day-to-day requirements of the business.
As well as ensuring our high standards of customer service are met, you will be responsible for creating rotas to a budget, planning and managing stock levels and reducing waste where possible. Experience recruiting and training staff would be advantageous.
You should have high standards regarding presentation; what the customer sees as they walk up to the café; writing up of blackboards so they are attractive, neat and well-written; overall cleanliness, tidiness and organisation of the café; presentation of the cabinet and plated food as well as drinks.
« Recent management experience (1 year minimum).
« Speciality Café/Coffee shop experience (1 year minimum).
« Effective leader, role model, excellent communication skills, able to delegate.
« Meticulous planning and organisational skills.
« Ability to work in a collaborative way with our Kitchen Manager and other senior staff.
« Problem solving and keeping a cool head in pressure situations.
« Able to see the “Big Picture” of the business – awareness of need to manage costs.
« Self-motivated and good work ethic with a focus on excellent customer service.
« Taking feedback/instructions from the owner and implementing.
« Excellent communication skills, record keeping and a focus on cleanliness with attention to detail.
« Sense of commitment, dedication and responsibility.
« Must be able to work weekends.
« Kind and caring approach to managing staff and interacting with customers.
« Good understanding of common allergens and veganism.
« Speciality coffee experience with barista skills (ideal, but training can be given to the right candidate).
« Staff development/training experience.
« Social media promotion/marketing experience.
