Plant based diets focus on foods obtained primarily from plants. This includes fruit and vegetables, oils, nuts, seeds, whole grains, beans and legumes. This eating pattern doesn’t clarify you as vegan or vegetarian, or state that you will never again eat dairy or meat. It simply refers to a way of eating where food choices are primarily from plant sources.
My talk will look at the benefits and risks of plant based eating plans, expected changes to your microbiome, nutritional factors to be aware of and supplementation requirements to be aware of before commencing plant based eating.
